Information Cumin handles
Cumin handles the content you create or import so the app can provide its core features. This may include recipes, ingredients, instructions, photos, source URLs, folders, tags, favorites, notes, meal plans, grocery items, nutrition details, cooking progress, preferences, and recovery or version-history records.
This information is stored locally on your device. Cumin does not operate a developer-owned account system, advertising platform, or analytics service that receives your recipe library.
Optional iCloud and sharing
If you enable iCloud features, Apple CloudKit can sync Cumin data between devices signed in to your Apple Account. If you explicitly share content, CloudKit makes that content available to the people you invite. These services are provided by Apple and are governed by your iCloud settings and Apple’s terms and privacy practices.
Cumin does not use iCloud content for advertising or analytics. You can turn off iCloud access in system settings, though doing so may stop syncing and sharing.
Permissions and integrations
Reminders
With your permission, Cumin can read and update the Reminders lists you select for grocery-list features. You can revoke this permission in system settings.
Photos and files
Cumin accesses a photo or file only after you choose it through an Apple system picker or share it to the app. Imported content is used to create or restore recipes and collections.
Website imports
When you ask Cumin to import a recipe from a website, the app requests the URL you selected so it can identify recipe content. The external site may receive standard network information such as your IP address and may apply its own cookies or privacy policy.
Notifications, timers, and Live Activities
Cumin can use local notifications and Live Activities to show cooking timer progress or other status you request. These features can be managed in system settings.
Tracking, analytics, and advertising
Cumin does not include third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, or behavioral analytics. It does not build advertising profiles or sell personal information.
Website hosting
This informational website does not add analytics, advertising trackers, or application cookies. Its hosting and security providers may process standard request information, such as IP address and browser headers, keep operational logs, or set strictly necessary security and anti-abuse cookies. Cumin does not use that information for advertising or behavioral profiling.
Retention and deletion
Your content remains on your device until you delete it, replace it with a backup, or remove the app. Deleted items, recipe versions, or recovery snapshots may remain temporarily in Recently Deleted, device backups, or iCloud backups until you permanently remove them or the applicable backup expires.
If iCloud is enabled, synced data can remain in iCloud according to your Apple settings. You can delete content in Cumin, permanently clear recoverable items, disable permissions in system settings, and manage Cumin’s iCloud data through your Apple Account settings.
Your privacy choices
- Use Cumin entirely without a Cumin account.
- Choose whether to enable iCloud sync and sharing.
- Choose which Reminders lists, photos, files, or URLs to use.
- Revoke app permissions in Apple system settings.
- Delete recipes, plans, groceries, imports, and recoverable items in the app.
- Remove local app data by deleting the app from your device.
Because Cumin does not operate an account or receive your recipe library, there is no separate developer-held account record to request. The instructions above describe the available privacy controls and deletion options. For assistance, email support@cumin.online.
Children’s privacy
Cumin is a general-audience cooking utility and is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or analytics service.
International processing
Apple may process iCloud and platform-service data in locations described in Apple’s privacy documentation. Cumin does not operate a separate international data-processing service.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change when Cumin’s features or legal obligations change. The date above will be updated when a revised policy is published. Questions about this policy may be sent to support@cumin.online.
